Communication device
The CANmod.router exposes a USB CDC-ACM device - which on most machines will be recognized as a serial port.
The following data can be received through the USB connection:
Messages transmitted by the CANmod.router onto CAN-P (messages are copied to the USB)
The following data can be transmitted through the USB connection:
Virtual messages to the CANmod.router (as if they had been received by the CANmod.router from CAN-P)[1].
When configured in mux-mode, it is possible to communicate (indirectly) with CAN-S from the USB (in the same way as it is possible from CAN-P). How to specifically communicate with CAN-S depends on the mux-mode configuration.
The CANmod.router can be used with USB as a stand-alone unit. This feature is primarily intended for testing but does also allow for use of the CANmod.router without any bus connected to CAN-P.
