Communication device
The CANmod.gps exposes a USB CDC-ACM device - which on most machines will be recognized as a serial port.
The following data can be received through the USB connection:
Messages transmitted by the CANmod.gps onto CAN-P (messages are copied to the USB)
The following data can be transmitted through the USB connection:
Virtual messages to the CANmod.gps (as if they had been received by the CANmod.gps from CAN-P)[1].
The USB-port can be used to receive copies of any configured push messages. In addition, it is possible to use virtual messages to poll messages.
The CANmod.gps can be used with USB as a stand-alone unit. This feature is primarily intended for testing but does also allow for use of the CANmod.gps without any bus connected to CAN-P.
