Configuration explained

This section contains additional information and examples.

Type

The module internally performs a conversion from the thermocouple voltage measurement to temperature. To be able to do so, the module needs to know which type of thermocouple sensor is connected to the input port. Selecting the correct type of thermocouple type is crucial to get an accurate output result.

Note

The different thermocouple technologies each have specific properties such as temperature range and precision. The selection of thermocouples is beyond the scope of this documentation.

Noise filter

Long thermocouple cables pick up noise from a variety of sources, including AC power cables. To attenuate this input noise, the module includes a digital notch filter. The center frequency of the stop-band can be set to either 50 Hz (EU) or 60 Hz (USA).
