S3 server
Below we outline three types of S3 servers that you can use with your CANedge2:
- Local - upload files to a self-hosted server on a local network (warehouse, boat, office, …)
- Dedicated - upload files to a self-hosted server over the internet via port forwarding
- Cloud - upload files to a cloud server for scalability, processing power and ease-of-use
You can learn more about S3 buckets & objects in the CANedge Docs.
Note
If you need to upload data via the internet (rather than via a local network) we recommend that you start with an AWS S3 cloud. It’s simple to setup and practically free at small scale. You can always switch later via an over-the-air update.
